Classes

Eleven playable classes are available in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition, grouped by general occupation.

Warriors

  • Fighter — Hit Die d10, Grand Mastery in any weapon
  • Ranger — Hit Die d10, druid spells from level 8, Two-Weapon Style specialist
  • Paladin — Hit Die d10, priest spells from level 9, Turn Undead, Lay on Hands
  • Barbarian — Hit Die d12, faster movement, Rage, physical resistances at higher levels

Priests

  • Cleric — Hit Die d8, Turn Undead, full priest spell list
  • Druid — Hit Die d8, druidic spells, shapeshift, elemental resistances

Rogues

  • Bard — Hit Die d6, Bard Song, light spellcasting, Pick Pockets
  • Thief — Hit Die d6, full thieving skill set, Backstab, Set Snare

Wizards

  • Mage — Hit Die d4, arcane spells from a spellbook; can specialize in a school of magic (see Magic)
  • Sorcerer — Hit Die d4, arcane spells without a spellbook; cast spells more often

Other

  • Monk — Hit Die d8, unarmed combat specialist, ki abilities, no spells
