Shapeshifter (Druid Kit)¶
The Shapeshifter is not named for variety of forms but for complete dedication to a single alternate form. He has willingly allowed himself to become infected with lycanthropy, but intense study and training let him control his affliction. The creature he becomes is the werewolf, the most famous of the lycanthrope shape changers.
Advantages¶
- May Shapeshift into a werewolf once per day every 2 levels (starts at 1st level with one use).
- 13th level: May Shapeshift into a greater werewolf once per day.
Disadvantages¶
- May not wear any armor.
- No other shapeshifting abilities — the standard wolf, black bear, and brown bear forms are unavailable.
When to pick it¶
- The werewolf form has high natural AC, strong claws, and good HP — a Shapeshifter can fill the role of front-line tank with no equipment investment.
- The pre-EE bug where werewolf claws are treated as non-magical is fixed in BG2:EE; this kit is significantly stronger than its tabletop reputation suggests.
