Shapeshifter (Druid Kit)¶
Not called Shapeshifter because of access to a greater variety of forms, but because of complete dedication to a single alternate form. A Shapeshifter has willingly allowed himself to become infected with lycanthropy but, through intense study and training, has the ability to control the affliction. The creature he becomes is the werewolf — the most famous of the lycanthrope shape-changers.
Advantages¶
- May shapeshift into a werewolf once per day every 2 levels (1 use at 1st level).
- 13th level: may shapeshift into a greater werewolf once per day.
Disadvantages¶
- May not wear any armor.
- May not use any other shapeshifting abilities — the standard Druid wolf/bear forms are unavailable due to the effort required to maintain balance in his primary forms.
When to pick it¶
- Werewolf form has high attack rate, claws, and durability — a melee monster for a magic-light party.
- The greater werewolf form at 13th level is very strong but lands well after the BG:EE XP cap, so the standard werewolf is what you'll mostly use here.
