Abjurer (Mage Kit)

A wizard who specializes in protective magic. The Abjurer focuses on shielding allies and warding away hostile spells and creatures.

Advantages

  • May memorize one additional spell per level per day.
  • Strong access to all Abjuration spells (Shield, Protection From X, Spell Turning, Spell Trap, etc.).

Disadvantages

  • Opposed School: Alteration — may not learn any Alteration spells (no Haste, Polymorph Self, Stoneskin, etc.).

When to pick it

  • Skipping Alteration is a steep cost — Stoneskin alone is one of the best survival spells in the game. Many players consider Abjurer one of the least attractive specialist Mages because of this opposition.
