Nashkel

South of Beregost and north of the Cloud Peak Mountains is the village of Nashkel. Rumour has it that it's a nice place — a little smaller than Beregost but with a temple, an inn, two stores (one reputed to sell some magical goods), and a fine tavern.

The "evil presence in the mountains" Volo deflects with humour is the iron crisis — Nashkel sits adjacent to the Nashkel Mines, where a strange contamination has fouled the iron supply across the Sword Coast and triggered the events of the BG:EE campaign.
