Exotic Weapons

The IWD:EE Mastering Melee & Magic manual notes that beyond the catalogued weapons in the previous categories there are other weapons you may find throughout your adventure that have not been described. If you are proficient with it, you can wield it.

Blades from Far Eastern lands have infrequently been spotted in the area, brought to the North by foreign traders or retrieved by irreverent adventurers from long-forgotten crypts. These are exceedingly rare, however, and I doubt more than a handful exist in the vicinity of the Ten Towns. — Everard

The katana (covered under Large Swords) is the most commonly-encountered exotic weapon, brought back from Kara-Tur by traders and treasure-hunters. Other exotic weapons may appear as named magical items rather than generic equipment — see the named relics catalogued in Magical Items.
