Axes¶
Battle Axe¶
The most common battle axe is a stout pole about four feet in length with a single-edge, trumpet-shaped blade mounted on one end. Battle axes are also called broad axes.

Two-Handed Axe¶
A mighty weapon consisting of a haft 4 to 5 feet long, topped with a heavy blade. May be double-bitted (blades on both sides of the haft) or single-bladed. Unwieldy but a skilled warrior can strike blows of tremendous strength.

Throwing Axe¶
The hand axe or hatchet. The axe blade has a sharp steel tip counterbalanced by a pointed fluke. The short handle has a point at the bottom, and the head may have a spike on top.
Proficiency carry-over
Characters proficient with axes are also proficient with throwing axes.
