Bard¶
The Bard is a rogue, but very different from the Thief. Their strength is a pleasant and charming personality. With that and their wits, the Bard makes their way through the world. A talented musician and a walking storehouse of gossip, tall tales, and lore — Bards learn a little bit about everything that crosses their path, dabbling in all trades but mastering none.
Class features¶
- May not wear armor heavier than chain mail. Spells cannot be cast while wearing armor.
- May not equip shields larger than bucklers.
- May only become Proficient (one slot) in any weapon class.
- May only become Proficient (one slot) in any fighting style.
- Thieving ability: Pick Pockets.
- Increased Lore (+10 per level).
- May cast arcane spells starting at 2nd level.
Bard Song repertoire¶
Use the Bard Song ability to play any song the Bard has learned:
- 1st level — "The Ballad of Three Heroes": All allies within 30 ft. gain +1 to-hit, +1 damage, +1 to all saves.
- 3rd level — "The Tale of Curran Strongheart": All allies within 30 ft. become immune to fear for the duration; existing fear effects are removed.
- 5th level — "Tymora's Melody": All allies within 30 ft. gain +1 luck, +3 saves, +10 lore, +10% to all thieving skills.
- 7th level — "The Song of Kaudies": Allies within 30 ft. have a 50% chance to shrug off sound-based attacks (Silence, Shout, Great Shout, Command, Greater Command).
- 9th level — "The Siren's Yearning": Enemies within 30 ft. must save vs. Spell or be enthralled for 1 round (or until damaged).

11th level — "War Chant of Sith": Allies within 30 ft. gain +2 AC, +10% physical/missile resistance, +2 hp/round regeneration.

Alignment: restricted to any neutral.
- Hit Die: d6.
Kits¶
- Blade — Offensive and Defensive Spin, 3 slots in Two-Weapon Style
- Jester — song confuses, slows, and (later) stuns enemies within 30 ft.
- Skald — party-buff song that scales to massive bonuses
Multi-class options¶
The Bard is a single-class only; no multi-class combinations include Bard.
