Cavalier (Paladin Kit)

The Cavalier represents the most common picture of the knight: the chivalrous warrior who epitomises honour, courage, and loyalty. They specialise in battling "classical" evil monsters such as demons and dragons.

Advantages

  • +3 to-hit and damage vs. all fiendish and draconic creatures.
  • May cast Remove Fear once per day per level.
  • Immune to charm, fear, poison, and morale failure.
  • 20% resistance to fire and acid.

Disadvantages

  • May not use missile weapons.

When to pick it

  • BG2's late campaign throws demons, devils, and dragons at the party — Cavaliers excel against all of them.
  • Fire and acid resistance plus immunity to charm/fear remove several of the game's nastiest soft locks.
