Stalker (Ranger Kit)¶
Stalkers serve as covert intelligence-gatherers, comfortable in both wilderness and urban settings. They are the spies, informants, and interrogators — and their mastery of stealth makes them deadly opponents.
Advantages¶
- +20% to Move Silently and Hide in Shadows.
- May use Backstab, at a lower multiplier than Thieves:
- Level 1–8: ×2
- Level 9–16: ×3
- Level 17+: ×4
- 12th level: May memorize three Mage spells — Haste, Protection from Normal Missiles, and Minor Spell Deflection.
Disadvantages¶
- May not wear armor heavier than studded leather.
When to pick it¶
- A Backstabbing Ranger with druid spells is unusually versatile — opening with a stealthed two-handed sword backstab is very strong in BG2.
- The 12th-level Mage spells are an exceptional bonus when you reach Throne of Bhaal.
